German Legionnaire Patrick Fölser starts into the new season with HSG
Dusseldorf on saturday. Already in the first round he will meet Austrian teammate Viktor Szilagyi in the game against VfL Gummersbach. In the interview with Andreas Schnedl from sportlive.at the
32-year-old pivot speaks about next tasks in the toughest league in
the world and the honor of being shown on all ÖHB player passes for the
2009/10.
In June, you won the online voting, who is
pictured on the ÖHB player passes for the 2009/10 season. You even have beaten national team colleagues Roland Schlinger and
Robert Weber. What do you say?
Fölser: "I'm obviously very pleased, although I will probably never see the pass. Of course it is a great honor for me that
the majority of fans has voted for me."
On Saturday you will open the season with the game against VfL Gummersbach. What expectations do you have?
Fölser: "We are obviously underdogs, who must still
try to start well in the season. Straight to the beginning of the
season there are certainly one or two surprises possible. We just want
to show our best performance and see what comes out."
Does the game has any special meaning for you because of the Austrian-duel with Viktor Szilagyi?
Fölser: "There will be a lot of Austrian-duels this year in the German
Bundesliga. Of course, I am pleased to see Viktor again, but there´s no particular shattering power."
